The ability to effectively sequence the movement of body segments to allow for the successful completion of functional tasks and activities.
  • Range of Motion (ROM) – Refers to the extent of mobility available in individual joints and body segments. The mobility can be the result of an individual moving the limb themselves or having the limb moved by others.

  • Endurance – Relates to an individual’s ability to sustain muscle contractions for an extended period of time, allowing for physical engagement in meaningful activities.

  • Strengthening – References the ability to purposefully contract dedicated muscles to move body segments in order to interact with the environment.

  • Coordination – Refers to the ability to effectively sequence the movement of body segments to allow for the successful completion of functional tasks and activities.
