Support your patients’ physical and cognitive rehabilitation in Happy Valley where they are immersed in a world of friendly penguin villagers. Patients, standing or seated, engage in a wide variety of therapeutic activities such as growing vegetables, placing birds in nests, and piloting hot air balloons.

Visits to Happy Valley are not only designed to help patients with physical or occupational therapy, but they also offer a sense of wonder and respite from the difficulties of daily realities.

Physical & Cognitive Rehabilitation Activities

Patient progress is rewarded with a “build out” of three Happy Valley locations. As patients complete activities, stamps are added to a card. Patients use each filled stamp card to construct a new building for the penguins of Happy Valley. Cards fill with stamps when patients complete three activities or when the session ends.

Hide and Seek™

Use for sensory distraction during setup. Familiarize patient with a virtual environment and the device itself. Record cervical spine range of motion (ROM) or identify a midline shift.

Sunrise™ Activities

Use Sunrise Activities to exercise symmetrical seated shoulder, knee or hip flexion and encourage postural alignment. Activities offer a friendly visual dialogue between the patient and an expressive sun, giving real-time biofeedback with a range of expressions and reflective positioning.

Bird Forest™ Activities

Use functional movement patterns to help strengthen the upper extremities by helping birds return to their home nests.

Hot Air Balloon™ Activities

Practice core control and strengthening, dynamic balance and hip flexion to help penguins guide hot air balloons.

Sports Park™ Activities

Engage the upper and lower extremities in a variety of interactive sports parks designed to build strength and endurance.

Catch & Glow™

Designed to exercise cervical proprioception and range of motion, the patient controls a small penguin with their head movement to catch fireflies that appear in a specific pattern.

Creative Canvas™ Activities

Use functional reach and trunk control to strengthen the upper and lower arm ROM to create artistic compositions.

Mad Tavern™

Patient visually scans a bustling tavern to trigger a series of short stories. This activity helps promote cervical ROM, visual processing skills, and cognitive aspects for focus and attention.
